La Bohème in Florence – In a spellbinding setting where Italian culture meets the grandeur of opera, the Teatro del Maggio in Florence is gearing up to once again host one of the most beloved works from the Italian repertoire: “La Bohème”. This splendid production, which received rave reviews from audiences and critics alike when it debuted in September 2017 and again between December 2019 and January 2020, is set to grace the stage from November 14 to 29, 2023.

About the Opera “La Bohème”

“La Bohème,” a majestic composition by Giacomo Puccini with a libretto by Giuseppe Giacosa and Luigi Illica, draws its inspiration from Henri Murger’s novel “Scènes de la vie de bohème.”

Set in 1830s Paris, the tale revolves around characters like Rodolfo, Mimì, Marcello, Musetta, among others. The performance is renowned for its evocative, minimalist staging, which eschews a realistic portrayal in favor of emphasizing the narrative’s raw emotion and essence.
