To connect with prospective educators, the institute is hosting a Recruitment Day on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at its premises on Viale Mazzini n.10 in Florence. The event will run from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, offering attendees a chance to immerse themselves in the institute’s vibrant academic environment.
Participants can look forward to engaging one-on-one conversations with the Deputy Director and the Course Coordination Team. This informal setting provides an excellent opportunity to discuss teaching methodologies, curricula, and the institute’s educational philosophy. Additionally, current English teachers will be on hand to share their experiences and insights over a casual cup of coffee.
Candidates are encouraged to bring a printed copy of their updated CV or résumé, along with professional references.
Qualifications and Teaching Opportunities in Tuscany
The British Institute is seeking native English-speaking teachers of any nationality who are currently residing in Tuscany and have the legal right to work in Italy.
Essential qualifications include a reputable TEFL certification such as CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL. While a Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of relevant teaching experience are desirable, they are not mandatory.
Experience teaching young children aged 6 to 11 and preparing students for Cambridge exams is considered an advantage.
Positions are available not only in Florence but also in various parts of Tuscany, including the Firenze Sud-Sieci-Pontassieve-Bagno a Ripoli area and the Empoli-Lucca-Pontedera-Pisa-Livorno regions.
Contracts will commence in January and extend through May or June, allowing educators to make a meaningful impact over several months.
