Why a Pajama Street Race?
September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month worldwide. The “Golden Ribbon” symbolizes global awareness about child cancer, inspiring the inception of the Pajama Run. Now in its 5th year, this pajama-themed walk and run organized by LILT echoes support for kids spending days in pajamas due to illness.
It’s an event where fun meets sportsmanship and solidarity. Proceeds from the run will empower LILT to drive impactful projects and essential services for affected children and families throughout Italy.
The Legacy of the Pajama Run More than an event, the Pajama Run is a movement. Birthed by LILT Milano Monza Brianza in 2019, its core aim was to extend a helping hand to children with tumors and their families through free services. Over the years, it has grown into a prominent beacon in Italy’s fight against pediatric cancer.

Historically, the Pajama Run plays a pivotal role in supporting the “Case del Cuore” – special apartments offered by LILT Milano. Located near the Tumor Institute of Milan, these homes serve vulnerable families from across Italy and beyond. Since 2020, the race’s reach expanded beyond Milan, with the “Anywhere” version and more LILT representations.
Marking its 5th edition in 2023, the Pajama Run promises a grander scale, set to take place in over 20 Italian cities and the established “Anywhere” format. This expansion owes to the nationwide support from LILT and its provincial associations.
The Pajama Run epitomizes the solidarity and unity of a nation for a noble cause. With every edition, it reiterates its dedication to the health and wellbeing of children and families, proving that united, we stand stronger.
