An Unforgettable Open-Air Cinema Festival
Get ready for the 13th edition of “Apriti Cinema 2024”, an open-air cinema festival that takes place during the summer nights from June 26 to August 6, 2024, in the square surrounded by the Galleria degli Uffizi museum in Florence.
Screenings start at 9:45 PM, except on June 28, when the screening will be moved up to 8:30 PM. And the best part? Admission is free, subject to seat availability.
Films will be shown in their original language, with subtitles in Italian and, in some cases, also in English.

Program Highlights
The festival will celebrate the centenary of Lauren Bacall and Marcello Mastroianni with screenings of classic films honoring these cinema icons.

Additionally, there will be a special tribute to award-winning director Gabriele Salvatores, featuring screenings of “Mediterraneo” (1991), “Nirvana” (1997), and “Turné” (1990).
Among the special festivals and collaborations, “Middle East Now – Summer Stories” includes the Italian premiere of “Elbow” by Aslı Özarslan on July 30.
The “Florence Korea Film Fest” will feature “Go Go 70s” by Choi Ho on July 31. The “Florence Queer Festival” will present “Queendom” by Agniia Galdanova on August 1.
Special events include the Sentiero Film Factory presenting “Taxibol” by Tommaso Santambrogio on July 25, with the director in attendance. “Lo schermo dell’arte – Notti di mezza estate” will focus on the intersection of art and cinema, showcasing “Dead Dance” by Domenico Palma on July 15.
Classic and restored films will also be highlighted. Federico Fellini’s “8½” will be screened as part of the centenary celebration of Marcello Mastroianni on August 2. Another masterpiece by Fellini, “La Dolce Vita”, will also be shown in honor of Mastroianni on August 5.
