A city of lights and art
For the 2025 edition, the theme “Il Natale delle Arti” (The Christmas of the Arts) pays tribute to creativity and craftsmanship — both key elements of Arezzo’s cultural heritage. The entire old town becomes a luminous canvas, where projections and installations transform the city’s ancient palaces and monuments into glowing works of art.
At the top of the city, the green expanse known as Il Prato becomes the Bosco delle Emozioni (Forest of Emotions) — one of the largest and most spectacular light installations in Italy. With over 640,000 LED lights covering 8,000 square meters, it creates an enchanting and sustainable show that leaves visitors in awe. Among the new features this year are the Illuminated Castle, a fairytale-like selfie spot, and the Piazzetta del Vischio, an interactive area where visitors can leave messages and share their Christmas wishes.
The Bosco also hosts an ice-skating rink, a Ferris wheel, and the Mercato delle Arti, where artisans showcase handmade and artistic creations — perfect for those looking for unique Christmas gifts.

Markets, elves, and the magic of the season
The magnificent Fortezza Medicea, overlooking the city from above, becomes home to Natale in Fortezza — a magical world where children can visit Santa’s House (open until December 24) and the Elves’ Village (open until January 6).
In Piazza Grande, one of the most beautiful squares in Tuscany, the traditional Christmas Markets return, organized by Confcommercio Arezzo. Until December 28, visitors can enjoy the atmosphere of a Tyrolean Village, with cozy wooden chalets offering artisanal products and winter treats.
At the nearby Palazzo di Fraternita, the Brick House welcomes children and LEGO® lovers with creative workshops and play spaces open through January 6.

Artisans, nativity scenes, and surprises across Arezzo
The festive spirit of Christmas in Arezzo 2025 spreads throughout the city. In the Cloister of the Library (via dei Pileati, 8), the Artigiani di Natale market will feature the best of Tuscan craftsmanship during the three weekends leading up to Christmas.
Visitors will also find beautiful nativity scenes displayed in Arezzo’s churches, while Piazza San Jacopo and Piazza Risorgimento host a traditional Christmas market with wooden huts and cozy alpine vibes.
Meanwhile, Piazza della Libertà and Piazza Sant’Agostino will surprise visitors with spontaneous performances, live music, and festive events that keep the magic alive all season long.
A safe and welcoming Christmas experience
The 2025 edition of Arezzo Città del Natale will also emphasize safety and accessibility, coordinated by the Fondazione Arezzo Comunità. The Palazzo della Provincia will serve as an info point dedicated to the event, providing assistance and information to visitors.
The project is organized by the Fondazione Arezzo Intour and the Comune di Arezzo, with the support of the Regione Toscana, Fondazione Guido d’Arezzo, Fondazione Arezzo Comunità, and the Chamber of Commerce of Arezzo and Siena.
