PAST EVENT – For those who are passionate about art and technology, the Inside Van Gogh in Florence is a must-see. Just steps away from the iconic Ponte Vecchio, an interactive multimedia display dedicated to the Dutch artist awaits you. Read on for more details.

The Multimedia Spectacle of Inside Van Gogh

Directed by Stefano Fake and created by Crossmedia, Inside Van Gogh is a 35-minute multimedia spectacle utilizing cutting-edge technology to weave an engaging digital narrative.

Visitors are invited to plunge into the life and work of Vincent van Gogh, one of the most celebrated painters in history, through a stunning 360° multi-projection. The crisp images and immersive soundtrack contribute to creating a unique atmosphere, making each viewer feel a part of the artist’s universe.

Inside Van Gogh in Florence Tuscany Italy

This is not the first Van Gogh exhibit to be held here. In March 2015, I took my young daughters to participate in the exhibition at the same location (then called Van Gogh Alive) with their school, and it was a hit! The kids loved it.

Now in 2024, my youngest went back there with the school, and the children loved the experience with the Oculus VR, the augmented reality headset.

A Sensory and Educational Experience for Art Lovers

The exhibition begins with an introductory section filled with infographics and monitors, providing rich context about Van Gogh’s life and work.

However, the highlight of the visit is undoubtedly the Oculus VR stations. This part of the exhibit allows visitors to take a sensory 3D journey through Van Gogh’s famous paintings, offering a deeper and more intimate understanding of his art.

Furthermore, the “mirror room”, a kaleidoscope of images, promises to enchant and surprise, immersing visitors in a world of colors and shapes.

Below is the official video to give you an idea of what to expect:
