“Where to Park in Siena” is likely one of the first questions that pops up when you plan to rent a car and explore the charming backroads of this Tuscan region. Deciding to include Siena in your itinerary is one thing, knowing where to park your car and how much it will cost is another. This comprehensive guide presents an array of parking options in Siena, complete with prices and tips for a hassle-free trip. After all, you are on vacation, aren’t you?

Tips for Choosing the Best Parking in Siena

Siena’s parking lots have rates that vary significantly, so it’s recommended to check the price list at the entrance.

The cheapest parking is located at the train station door: 2 Euros per day (other places charge the same amount per hour or more!). It’s also important to know if the access to the place you want to visit is easy. The cheapest option is not always the best for you.

There’s a SiPark app available for iPhone and Android, which provides real-time parking availability and other amenities. However, you need to create an account and enter a phone number to access it.

For example, the parking at the train station, which is the most economical, to reach the city center, you have to climb a series of escalators that start in a gallery in front of the station and go up to the top of Siena.

Then you will have to walk quite a bit to Piazza del Campo. It is a pleasant walk if you like walking, but it’s not the most comfortable option for those who have mobility difficulties. It’s also not recommended for wheelchair users as it’s not possible to climb the long staircase/escalators.

If you’re going to stay in Siena, it might be better to opt for a hotel with free parking. We have selected some of the best hotels in Siena, including ones with free parking.
